Twitter geolocation tags mapped onto Irish roads to show volume of traffic.

Got this from the guardian. It does as it says. Its not a map of where people are using twitter but rather of where twitter is used the most when on the road system. Cant see anything of real interest for Irish people only that the busiest road on the Island would appear to the boat leaving Belfast for Scotland! Or though you could argue that people have more time for tweeting on the ferry. The M7/M8 to cork has a blank spot somewhere after Newbridge with everyone turning off the road to cork to go to Carlow. thus Portlaoise to Clonmel is pretty vacant.

Well all motorways lead to dublin... Hopefully the atlantic corridor will be finished some day and one can drive from Letterkenney to Cork. In which case we will be able to say all roads lead to Cork. As it should be.

Recently i drove from Dublin to Donegal. The drive through Sligo and Leitrim is one of the prettiest in the county. On the way back we took the shorter route through Fermanagh- It added an hour to our journey. It was like travelling back to the eighties.

On a serious note last week the OO grands secretary Drew something or other spoke to the Irish seanad. In my opinion he said some good things. Apart from that its all a part of "normalizing" relationships between the two communities. However in his speech he talked about the OO in terms that suggest that it is still a highly big part of the protestant community. Perhaps it is but it would seem that this is the case in the sense that its facilities are used regularly (they have about 1400 halls) but its actual members are way down (latest i heard was around 30,000) and like the churches in the North- falling at a steady rate.
